When Timberwolves general manager David Kahn drafted Ricky Rubio fifth overall in the 2009 draft, he knew it could be years before the Spanish guard arrived in the NBA. Yahoo Sports’ Adrian Wojnarowski reports that Rubio and the Timberwolves have reached an agreement for the point guard to play for the Wolves in the 2011-12 season.
Rubio’s signing does make it even more likely that Kahn will trade Minnesota’s No. 2 overall pick in the upcoming 2011 NBA draft.
